Hwllo KDE3 uses

Running `12.1 wqith KDE3.

I don't know what you call this po-up menu but it is the one that comes up 
when you insert a CD or DVD. The one that asks you what you want to do.
 This dopes not happen for me. I know the machine sees the disk because I can 
use ab app like VLC and open the disk and play it.

Could this be a hal problem? I think that is what caLL it. Any ideas on how to 
get it back/working for me?

And, once I do, how I can add apps to it like VLC or smplayer. But that can 
wait until it is working.
