I recently installed 11.4 on my Thinkpad A22p(P3/1Ghz/512MB/ATI Rage 128Mobility-16MB). I installed KDE3 and updated Firefox to v6 through the Mozilla repo(which begs the question of what they are doing with v5.x in the main repo since Mozilla claims v6 is the security update......)
Probably just a question of timing and documentation since Firefox went to its short release intervals.
Anyway, I've had issues with the menu bar, Tabs and the URL bar and the Search bar. The tabs will disappear and take the menu bar with them, and sometimes when I am typing in the URL and Search bars, the text will dissappear....
Exit FF and delete *.mfasl from your FF profile directory and try again. If that doesn't do it, try switching off tabs on top in the view menu. If you'd rather FF to look more like it did in v3.x, you might wish to try the extension status-4-evar, which also may make your problem go away. Another possible workaround might be installing MozillaFirefox-branding-upstream.
I had to use my 11.0 xorg.conf because 11.4 couldn't configure the display properly......And they said we didn't need SaX2.........
SaX3 is in the works for 12.1. Most people won't need it, but when you do you do.
I didn't notice this running LXDE when I first installed it, but I can't remember if I've use LXDE since I got KDE3 running.
I can't remember trying LXDE in a couple of years.
Has anyone else seen this?
Not me, but the complexities resulting from extensions aren't really testable. UI corruption seems to me virtually always caused by those .mfasl files corrupted after installing updates. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
