Works for me in Tumbleweed!!! :-)
Why does it remain necessary to enable the Ansus repo to have KControl's left panel populated?
Why do you think so?
I did a fresh 11.4 minimal X install with 3 as default runlevel last night, then did zypper up, then added the KDE3 repo, then did a minimal KDE3 install, then started runlevel 5.[1] KControl was empty, so I looked through my personal mailing list archive and found this thread had a solution, which worked. Since the Ansus desktop-data package still existed, I presumed its content to not be available in the KDE3 repo. Since you asked, I now know different, but the question remains why the Ansus repo still has desktop-data-openSUSE when updates has a newer one that works. Also, why didn't any of the necessary KDE3 packages pull any desktop-data package in as a dep?
