Err.. I knew you would ask... I can't recall what I chose in yast, but I did dump the y2log SoQt information for you. I have it here [44k]:

I fixed my kde3 install by downgrading all rpm that were upgraded on 4/24. I moved all the updates from 4/9 & 4/16 to /home/david/suse/goodK3/{noarch,x86_64}, then removed all the duplicates, launched fluxbox as the desktop and used:
[11:11 alchemy:/home/david/suse/goodK3] # rpm -Uvh --oldpackage
{noarch,x86_64}/*
warning: package quanta = 3.5.10-83.7 was already added, replacing with quanta > 3.5.10-83.8

file /opt/kde3/share/desktop-directories/kde-settings-power.directory from install of kdebase3-3.5.10.1-134.1.x86_64 conflicts with file from package systemsettings-kde3-0.2-5.2.x86_64
I did have to '--force' resolution of the above conflict and did the complete downgrade with:
[11:11 alchemy:/home/david/suse/goodK3] # rpm -Uvh --oldpackage --force {noarch,x86_64}/*
I downgraded ~ 138 packages and then launched kde3 again -- all is fine. I know the downgrade didn't solve which package caused the problem, but I had stuff I needed to get done today. Let me know what you want me to try to help isolate the problem and I'm happy to give it a go. I can always drop back to a working config with the packages I have in /home/david/suse/goodK3/{noarch,x86_64}.
What do you think we should try next? What additional info do you want me to
send?

I have no idea which update did it. I suspect a kdebase3 file. The only
other strange conflict that was resolved was SoQt (which has something to
do with coin and OpenGL). I don't know if that is related, but there was a
conflict that yast resolved.
How did you resolve the conflict?
