[opensuse-kde] [tumbleweed] kde/plasma/wayland: Primary Selection Protocol (middle-mouse to paste)

Hi, after I tried KDE/Plasma/Wayland on Debian/testing AMD64 I inspired my colleague Joop Boonen to test it on OpenSuse/tumbleweed. Everything was fine besides Primary Selection (middle-mouse to paste), so I stopped using Plasma/Wayland. Joop is able to use primary selection in every application (KDE or GTK). So, I was surprised. Here on KDE/Plasma 5.12.5 I cannot do that (for example cut-n-paste in konsole via middle-mouse paste into firefox). I asked on the wayland-devel ML [1] with no answer. The retired KWin maintainer wanted to have this feature in wayland-protocols before implementing it in KWin/Plasma/Wayland. So, what magic did you do in OpenSuse? The Gnome-way? [1] has references on how Gnome did it in mutter. Or can you point me to the relevant packages with name (sources and patches)? Thanks in advance. FYI: the problem has been identified meanwhile, it was triggered by a change in Qt 5.12. [opensuse-kde] TW: konsole tab activity detection stops working correctly

Another undesireable behaviour appeared with todays' update, I'm afraid. In konsole, when a background (i.e. currently non-selected) tab produces output, the tab title gets highlighted with a slightly different font color. That still works, however when I then switch back to this tab the highlight does not get removed anymore. That renders the feature essentially useless as eventually all tabs will be highlighted… I can't find any settings to influence this, so I can only assume that's a bug? Since one of the TW updates in December the display flickers immediately after logging into my Plasma session (not before) on my machine with an Intel Haswell Xeon. Switching off hardware acceleration (Shift-Alt-F12) gets me a stable picture, so something is wrong with that part of the graphics stack. In December, switching back to hardware acceleration after a while would work without the problem returning. After another update yesterday that didn't work anymore. I've tried to switch the renderer from OpenGL2.0 to OpenGL3.1 without success. Switching off tearing prevention seems to have resolved it (regardless of rendering backend), but I don't know what will happen after another round of reboot. Did anyone experience the same or similar problems and have any hints on what else to check? After reading mail during half an hours I'm getting popup in kmail with Server:imap.domain.tld Could not connect to host The TLS/SSL connection has been closed. déc 24 10:35:28 qt-kt kmail[24045]: QCoreApplication::postEvent: Unexpected null receiver Also I've another imap server that can't be connected (imap+sslv3 port 993) since the TW upgrade.
