Hi all,
just a little heads up for (at least) 13.2 users. It appears that using btrfs as root fs (well, for /var/tmp/ fs) can cause problem with KSharedDataCache (i.e. plasma cache, etc) in form of crashes.
It is reported upstream as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340657 It is yet unclear where the bug lies, as there are similar problems reported for kernels 3.16.x - 3.17.1 on btrfs mailing list.
If you are using btrfs for root, and can reproduce the issue with 3.17.2 or newer, or you cannot reproduce after updating kernel to 3.17.2, please follow up on the bug report. Thanks!
Cheers, Hrvoje
Look like certain options have to be disabled on /var/tmp/ If you've a plain stock 13.2 install for example /var/lib/pgsql as a subvolume with no-cow /me sorry away from any 13.2 at the moment. -- Bruno Friedmann Ioda-Net Sàrl www.ioda-net.ch openSUSE Member & Board, fsfe fellowship GPG KEY : D5C9B751C4653227 irc: tigerfoot
