Hi all,
just a little heads up for (at least) 13.2 users. It appears that using btrfs as root fs (well, for /var/tmp/ fs) can cause problem with KSharedDataCache (i.e. plasma cache, etc) in form of crashes.
Hmmm. I wonder if this is related to the issues I have on 13.1with zypper updates failing because /var is on a read-only file system(!!!). It seems / gets corrupted and then gets remounted ro - trouble is, you can't fix it without booting from a rescue disk (at least, I assume that is the way to fix it - I haven't tried yet).
It is reported upstream as https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=340657 It is yet unclear where the bug lies, as there are similar problems reported for kernels 3.16.x - 3.17.1 on btrfs mailing list.
Thanks. I'll check out the bug report. -- ============================================================== Rodney Baker VK5ZTV rodney.baker@iinet.net.au ============================================================== -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
