This happens under razor-qt too, so I don't know if is a kde problem or is more at low level
I recall kernel messages about floppy or fd0 in a computer without floppy, but with active controller on board.
Look at udisks with: udisksctl status it will list all disk devices recognized by system, and udisksctl dump that is quite verbose; on my computer it produces 800+ lines of output.
Also, grep output of 'dmesg' for "floppy" or "fd0".
The floppy is presen tbut since 12.3 it appears in device notifier and in dolphin...
Under 12.2 (but with same kde version) no floppy but it is present in udiskctl output: Floppy Drive fd0
Sometime prior to 12.2 release, kernel handling of floppy was changed. See e.g.. https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=773058 The reason I think you see a difference between 12.2 & 12.3 may have to do with version freeze happening before the kernel change. On which of the two, if any, do you have udisks2 installed? Maybe on 12.3 you'll want to replace udisks2 with udisks or vice versa. -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive."
