In that case would it be better to simply remove ksuseinstall? Or could the reason for the lack of change to the config file be simply that although the key is set, the code to write out the value was never added?
ksuseinstall constantly asks the user to install codecs/whatever and never respects the checkbox "Do not ask again". This bug is incredibly annoying and has been in for 2 years now. Surely it's a quick fix?
I thought so too, when we discussed it in the meeting I tried to do that quick fix, but found that the dialog does indeed set the do not ask again config key (using a generated value depending on the requested mimetype). However, this is not written to the kconfig file, and is the reason the bug exists. I'm not sure why the config file is not written, though.
