openSUSE will be released at 2013.03, but there would be KDE 4.10.1 only, which will be buggy a little. So IMHO it isn't a brilliant idea.
That is why I talked about "psychological" not "physical" point. Still, in terms of maintainability KDE 4.10 is easier for the Maintainer, as they would not have to backport anything. As this (backporting) costs manpower, it should be carefully considered what would be the better solution. a) a fresh distro with a still a little buggy KDE 4.10 to start, little to no extra work in adopting later 4.10.x releases, or b) staying on 4.9, with very little still open bugs, but a lot of work in backporting cherry-picked patches during the lifetime of the Distro-release 12.3 . IMHO, that is beyond my sphere of decision. Let the (paid) people that will to bear the workload decide on this. -- Yamaban.
