[opensuse-kde] openSUSE-KDE Meeting 20120403 notes
- From: Will Stephenson <wstephenson@xxxxxxx>
- Date: Wed, 04 Apr 2012 23:17:45 +0200
- Message-id: <1834307.5gFWqD8GQA@whistler.site>
So this mail is kind of backwards, because I didn't write up the previous
meeting yet, and we've already started to action the items from that meeting,
but hopefully those who are involved know what is going on and those who are
not can infer...
We started working on features for 12.2
- I am working on KLyDE, lightweight KDE pattern
- Ismael is working on Apper as an App Store fronting the AppStream databse
- Raymond and Bruno are working on Plymouth for the 12.2 bootup
- Raymond is updating Apper to fix the kded hangs the 12.1 version causes.
- Christophe has been packaging akonadi-googledata - the first Google akonadi
resource that really works
- We are all discussing features and tweaks for 12.2
- beclock clock overlay kwin effect
- Plasma media centre feasibility study (Linuxsusefan, real name unknown)
- updating the SUSEgreeter properly for once
- Appmenu external menu bar/HUD menu KRunner
- Luca has been working on troubleshooting the LD_BIND_NOW problems seen with
KDE in Factory
And we have all been working on KDE 4.8.2 packaging - released today, and the
livecd should be updated shortly.
- in Q&A-Misc the issue of font rendering came up, and Ismael has a repo
containing the "infinality" patches to Freetype that enable subpixel position
that can be used by Qt 4.8: in home:namtrac:subpixel in OBS - see
http://www.infinality.net/blog/ for more details on what they do.
Thanks everyone for a great effort in the last 2 weeks, we really booted the
team fast this time and got a lot done.
The next meeting is next week, in the LATE slot:
Wednesday 1700UTC, 11 April. My hope is that we will have 2 biweekly meetings
out of phase by 1 week, so the early people and the late people all meet
regularly, and the crazy guys and boosters get to do all the meetings.
See you soon!
Will (out for Easter break).
