I've recently upgraded to KDE 4.8.1 from 4.8.0 on 12.1, and as a result neither the CPU Monitor applet, not the System Load applet, nor the System Monitor would display the CPU usage history anymore. Gnome's system monitor has no such problem. Tried deleting .kde4/{share,config}/apps/ksysguard* files and folders, it seemed to work for a day, and after a logoff/login stopped working again (and deleting these files has no effect anymore).
Any clues?
not sure if it's the same for you, but my system monitors did the same, show nothing, when systemd wasn't working properly for me.
i didn't have spare time then and simply switched to sysvinit for a while. when i had more time i went through the processes i start on boot, removed some i didn't need anymore, and from then on systemd has been working ok for me.
so i don't know what exactly caused the monitors to not show anything (not receive any information, probably), but it seems to have been related to an error in the systemd init process -- which i still haven't figured out sufficiently to mess around with.
if you are using (the default) systemd to start your machine, you might try to switch to sysvinit once to see if your monitors come back.
Hi phanisvara, thanks for your reply. My system already uses sysvinit instead of systemd, so that's not the case. -- Regards, Vadym -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
