Now you know that some config file in your user's home is broken. Either you move .kde4 or you try to find the file that contains the config that causes the issue and only move that file. If you find the file you can submit it to a bug report at bugs.kde.org in order for devs to check whether it was a KDE bug that caused the issue or some user misconfiguration.
