I am having a problem with the gstreamer automatic file handler download. I am not sure if this is a KDE issue, gstreamer issue, openSUSE issue, or what, so I am asking here and can then post a bug report wherever is appropriate. I am using openSUSE 12.1 and this happens with both KDF and KUSc (two different computer). The problem occurs when I enable "aside previews" in the KDE file picker dialog. If my mouse moves bz2 compressed file, gstreamer tries to download a preview generator for the file. The specific dialog I get a dialog with this: Install GStreamer Resources /usr/lib/gst-install-plugins-helper requires an additional plugin decode this file application/x-bzip decoder The following plugin is required. Do you want to search for this now? Continue | Cancel ---end dialog--- If I click "Continue" of course the search fails, since previewing a bz2 file is nonsensical. The problem is that it pops up every time my mouse moves over such a file, and it doesn't remember if I press "cancel" or that the download fails, which means not only do I get a ton of such dialogs just trying to move my mouse through my Downloads file, I cannot open a bz2 file without the dialog getting in the way, I have to leave the dialog open in order to click the file since if I close it the dialog will open again when I try to click on the file again. This makes using the aside preview feature, which is really nice, infeasible in practice. Any ideas what might be causing this and how it can be fixed? It doesn't have for gz files, zip files, rpms, isos, or any other compressed file or container file I have tried. Only bz2 files seem to be affected. -Todd -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-kde+owner@opensuse.org
