That's a bug then (the pager hiding itself when there is no non-systemsettings 
way to add a new virtual desktop, and Desktop Grid is not assigned to a screen 
corner - let alone the non-composited case).

I wanted to hear Coolo's take on it actually, since he's qualified to give a 
better description of the problems he has with Activities than "are annoying".
