You should probably just remove phonon-backend-xine - and either suffer phonon-backend-gstreamer, or try phonon-backend-vlc from packman instead.
I agree with Martin My system is using gstreamer, though xine 4.4.4 is there too
Hi, was also described in the announcement of KDE 4.7.0 SC. Xine backend will be removed, and replaced Backends by GStreamer / VLC.
See here: ↓ http://www.kde.org/announcements/4.7/platform.php
and here the discussion about Xines distance from phonon: ↓

Currently you can GStreamer backend with Phonon, if GStreamers packages install from Packman repo, without compromising on using openSUSE 11.3 and KDE 4.7.0 (from KDF).
I hope I could contribute to the Enlightenment, have a nice weekend!
Yes, I usually using GStreamer backend. I just suspect this issue will confusing normal user who want to use KDF, once they choice keep phonon- backend-xine will be broken somewhere, because they cannot get new phonon from KDF. -- Best regards, Max -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-kde+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-kde+help@opensuse.org
