Is there a way to disable this last popup menu and go to the console login after only pressing Alt-N as it was in 11.3?
[Ctrl [Alt [F2]]]
Switching virtual terminal is not the same as selecting console login from the login screen. Also for me switching virtual terminal with Ctrl Alt Fn is not always possible because I often run 11.4 in a virtual machine and that key combination just make me switch to the virtual console of the main host.
The virtual console should give you a way to pass any key events to the client. qemu has sendkeys or something.
Crtl-Alt-2 (switch to qemu monitor) sendkey Ctrl-Alt-F1 (switch to VT1, not visible because I'm on the qemu monitor window) Crtl-Alt-1 (should switch back to the guest console, but it doesn't work because Crtl-Alt-1 is a key sequence used by my window manager)
You can tell QEMU to switch by typing a command.
By the way, if I have to type all this to get to the console, then it's faster to use the mouse. And what I want is a fast way to get the console, as it was in 11.3.
I thought you have no pointing device at all.
I agree that support keyboard-driven control is very poor in KDE. I tried using the keyboard only and there are many things you just cannot do so I gave up (for now d8-O). It helps to have a keyboard with a [Menu] key but not every keyboard has it.
My point was not about poor keyboard-driven control in KDE. I was reporting that something (keyboard related) that was working in 11.3 is not working anymore in 11.4. And while I am at it, here is another one. In KDE I use the Classic Menu Style launcher (simplelauncher) In 11.3 in order to shutdown the computer this key sequence will do it: Alt-F1 (launcher menu) Alt-L (Leave submenu) Alt-U (Select shutdown) Alt-T (confirm shutdown) In 11.4: Alt-F1 (launcher menu) works Alt-L (Leave submenu) works Alt-D (Select shutdown) doesn't work Alt-T (confirm shutdown) The shortcut to select the shutdown has changed, (Alt-D instead of Alt-U) but none of them works. The funny thing is that all the other shortcut in the Leave submenu still works: Alt-R (restart), Alt-H (hibernate), Alt-E (sleep), etc. Is there any hope to see these keyboard related regressions fixed with an update in 11.4?
