Does anyone with a laptop have the same issue? On KDE 4.6.0 the battery indicator says, there was no battery. Xosview shows the correct battery
In KDE SC 4.6 Solid switched to using upower instead of HAL. Though I think it should be able to fall back to HAL, your problems are probably related to this change. Check your installations if you have upower and/or HAL installed and working.
If upower was not installed please let us know and I will make it a dependency for 11.2.
When I look in YasT, there is no package "upower" for openSUSE 11.2 available... Or is there a repo that offers upower for openSUSE 11.2?
Let's try using the legacy HAL backend instead of upower. try $ SOLID_HAL_LEGACY=1 plasmoidviewer battery Does that show your battery in the windowed plasmoid? If so, put export SOLID_HAL_LEGACY=1 in your $HOME/.profile and re-login.
