Hello All. Please pardon me for butting in. I'm a simple open/suse user since
ver. 7.3 Whew! Let me say thanks for all I've learned here over the years!
Suggestion: Maybe what's needed is a sound API or 'kernel'? Possible the devs
could even lurk on the kernel list and see how those guys approach new ideas,
testing, submits, and finally commits. Of course this would be much too late
for 11.3, but with agreemen (on API, or some such), then planning, the entire
linux community could get behind targeting their apps to the new API. At least
sound would be in 1 camp so to speak, and app devs could again, structure their
items toward the agreed standard. Just a suggestion, not saying anything
negative about all the man hours that are put in. Only to
do what got tux started in the first place: harrness resources! Take care.

Have A Healthy, Prosperous Day!
