By now, eric carries explicite dependencies on certain versions of these packages in order to ease the life of actual users of this package.
I don't understand the "versions of both packages are not strictly needed, but we want to pull the supplied packages" - if it's not needed leave them out and the KDE:Backports build will install on older distros too. Or do you want to say that these packages are not needed themselves but only their dependencies? Then only add the separate depencies please...
What I want and other requested is, that if that eric is installed/updated, then all the packages below should be installed/updated as well.
And in "both requirements are not strictly needed, but we want to pull the supplied packages" cases usually "Recommends:" is used.
Does zypper pull Recommends packages, when package eric is installed/updated?
Since the time is running out, and I would like to get these into 11.2.
Packaging fixes can be done until RC phase at least. Today is only version/ late feature/string freeze followed by crypto freeze on Monday. :-)
