So, should we discourage kdepim4-runtime ?  Or add an extra box to "enable 
akonadi" for those that want it - right now it gets automatically enabled once 
you install kdepim4-runtime.

I used the way Akonadi set it up - I guess that's the bridge.

The native GW resource works for me on KDE 4.3 with openSUSE 11.1,
