It is funny that with so many don't find that mc as file manager, text editor
and more, it is replacing many other tools in basic rescue functions.

Not to mention that mc is safer to run as root then any graphic equivalent.
More reasons ?

Yes, as you mentioned, it is single application that is requested by many
people that I can recognize as skilled in Linux matters.
