[opensuse-kde] kdesvn issues with ssh+svn+pubkey

When I try to use the kde4 version of kdesvn (subversion client frontend) with
ssh+svn with public key authentication (dsa), I keep getting the
"kdesvnaskpass" dialog asking for the public key passphrase again and again
and again and...
I didn't have this problem with the kde3 version. And I've tried fiddling with
the kdesvn settings for using kwallet or storing remote passwords etc., but it
won't work for me.
I'm wondering if anyone else can confirm this problem - or simply confirm that
it works for them, and something is wrong on my end.
Seems unlikely that kdesvn won't work properly with the method used by the
official KDE SVN repository, but nevertheless I've had this problem for
months, which forces me to either use the kde3 version or the commandline
client for svn :-(
