Seems like something may have borked your displaymanager settings 
in /etc/sysconfig. Is there a reason you are using entrance rather 
than kdm?

Have you tried startx from init 3?
WINDOWMANAGER=fluxbox startx
or from init 5
WINDOWMANAGER=fluxbox startx -- :1
replace fluxbox w/ twm or some other manager

If another WM works then it will at least be another pointer to the 
kde update. (Conspiracey theory withheld for brevity)
let us know what happens

I've seen VERY similar errors trying to run xfce or enlightenment on 
ubuntu, never could get entrance to work nicely.
