No suggestions at all? :-(

I've tried reinstalling all of the packages and everything and I can't

find

any output that would suggest an issue. Pulseaudio won't work now
either

so

my sound is all messed up.

if kdm does not start at all,y ou should find information in

/var/log/kdm.log

or in /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Okay...here is kdm.log

Before reporting problems, check http://wiki.x.org
to make sure that you have the latest version.

and the last few lines of Xorg.0.log:

This looks like freetype or x-org got messed up somehow.

Then why does xfce work? I'm using the Xorg from the Xorg repo...is it
broken for others?

I'm using xfce on X now, so X at least works at some level.

pulseaudio is probably another herd of an unrelated problem.

Greetings,
Dirk

Could there be an issue with PolicyKit? I'm also having what I think are
unrelated issues with mounting media.

Thank you,
Matt

Hope that helps,

Peter
