Hello SuSE folk,
Hopefully somebody here will now how to do this and tell the dense one how to do it.
When one inserts a music CD or a movie DVD, Hal ???? brings up a menu on what to do with it. Of course none of the choices are correct. I've tried the configure option but still no luck. Want to play a DVD with Mplayer or VLC, a music CD with XMMS. How do I do this?

Bob,
Have you tried setting this in the KDE personal settings? I'm running the same version as you, and when I play something, the right one starts. It's under file associations in the kde settings.
Thanks for replying Mike and sorry for the delay in responding. Yes, I tried that and what Lubos instructed. (kcontrol ->peripherals -> storage media) VLC will open after setting it up like that but I get a message that states "vlc is unable to open the MRL media:/dev/sr0" "check your logs" Don't know where that log might be though. Also tried Mplayer. Set up OK but it dies with no messages. XMMS set up perfectly for the audio CD. Don't know what to think right now. Guess I'll have to keep trying.
