Either install the most recent 4.2.0 packages (although, 4.2.1 is out 
tomorrow, if you are bandwidth-poor).

Yes, that include the-ported-to-4.2 plaindesktop plugin.

Change plugin=plaindesktop to plugin=desktop in plasma-appletsrc and you will 
get the upstream default desktop (with cashew).
