Hi Malte,
Many bugs in KDE4 are related to nvidia and ati proprietary drivers, and that
is what no one without appropriate hardware can't see.
With nvidia FX 5200 until last driver update (legacy 173.xxx series), I had
garbled desktop when OpenOffice is running and the window has focus (it is
active), when some other window has focus, all was fine. Knode setup screen
was gray without anything in it. Everything was somewhat slow even with
desktop effects disabled. I'm sure there was more that I haven't seen as I
didn't use many programs before driver issue was fixed.
With nvidia MX 4000 I had console text garbled, almost all GTk applications
had the same problem (this includes Firefox), KDE3 konsole was filled with
garbage, though Xterm was OK. KDE4 I can't remember, as it was slow I was
avoiding it. Slowness was probably also due to driver issues.
As you can see 2 different adapters and 2 different sets of problems.
They test what they can, the rest is up to us. That is the reason to include
hardware information for part that failed, so that other with same hardware
can test it, or simply confirm it.

These kinds of things are to be expected when using factory repo.
Really....? I hoped they would test it themselves at least...
