I updated openSUSE 11.1 to the KDE version named above, it is from the
factory repo. When I logged in, I was surprised, all icons i have defined
in the system tray were gone, also all icons i defined in an additional
bar... Where does KDE 4.2 store these icons? I can't change them with a
right click, they are like "locked"

Same over (I think), just click on the peaner on the right side of the
panel -

panel settings: now hoover over the disappeared icons and remove them
from

the panel. Next step is to add them back to the panel. To do this open
the start menu right click on the app to be added to panel and select 'add
to panel'. That did it for me.

Yes, I've added them again. But, guess what happened when I logged in again...
they disapeared again and my desktop wallpapers and color settings were reset
to some kind of default... very annoying, but, there seem to be a new update
again this morning, I hope it will improve things... don't they test every
release?

Malte
