Hello -
(I will start a new thread for this) I am in the process of upgrading my HP Pavilion dv9000 laptop from SuSE10.2 to 11.0. Most of the installation process has gone fairly well, and I have done a clean install to a new disk, not an upgrade.
I decided to stick with KDE3.5 as my desktop and will wait until the dust settles on KDE4.0 before advancing to it. A minor annoyance has cropped up however and I wonder what has happened and how to fix it. In SuSE10.2 and 10.3, if I inserted a CD or DVD in my drive, or a thumb drive in my USB port, I would get a helper application automatically launched asking me what I wanted to do... This rather nice feature has gone away in SuSE11.0 and I wonder if something is broke or was a decision made not to support it any more? (that would be sad and a real loss of a nice convenient feature! IMHO) I do notice that these get mounted ok under /media so I know that SuSE is recognizing the fact that I have put something in the drive or a USB slot...
So what gives? Why am I not getting the helper menus any more? Thanks for any and all help offered in advance...
