My guess is that something within KDE4 is pulling in ksysguard as a suggests
or recommended package, and that forces the removal of ksysguard/3, which is
probably breaking the pattern or dependencies for KDE3 altogether.
A bit of a mess of dependencies; I'm sure one of the devs or packagers would
have a much better explanation, but for now I would try blocking
ksysguard/KDE4 from being installed, and see if you still run into something
similar.
I could be off-base and it might be something totally different though, but I
do recall having that issue before and avoiding ksysguard from KDE4 was the
way around it at the time.
Just a thought.
