I can confirm that the non-jpg attachments I sent earlier and thought they had been processed satisfactorily were in fact corrupted. I can't open any of them with the default applications.
I started to send a bug report but I'm not very familiar with how to do this. I looked at bugs.kde.org and did find some attachment related bugs but I don't think this one fit any of the reported bugs. I'm not sure if the bug should be reported at bugs.kde.org though since we are using opensuse's kmail version 1.9.9. Should it be reported to opensuse or the bugs site. Also from the previous thread you and I were a part of I think you may be much more knowledgable about the way mail programs are supposed to work, you might do a better job of getting the bug properly reported. If you want to report it I'll confirm. If you don't want to then maybe I'll give it a try tomorrow.
