Hi,
You can check lshal --monitor to see what device is added if you attach it.
And then it's either something for the mediamanager/medianotifier (it needs
to supply a mimetype for this specific device - it has only one for MP3 player
and camera) or for suseplugger, which is SUSE specific

Hello all,
I have written a MTP file browser of sorts,
http://users.eastlink.ca/~alvinbeach/flmtp/, and what I would like to do is
have KDE start the program when I attach the device. Is there someone in
KDE's settings or perhaps a daemon that I can configure that can do this?
I'm thinking of something like how when I attach a USB thumbdrive, a window
will open up to the thumbdrive.
I'm not sure if this is something that KDE can do or if I need to look into
something like udev (I'm guessing)? Has anyone done something like this
before?
I am using openSUSE 10.3 with KDE 3.5.9 release 51.2.
