ATI is a good guess (wrong word?) 'cos it matches my hardware. The
video driver module worked perfectly until the last Kernel upgrade -
which was one of a number applied simultaneously.

I suspect not even one of the newer updates or the ATI-Driver. We have a few
systems here with Intel915 Chips and the problem seems to be occurring with
one specific screen saver. (Motor). I myself use random screen savers without
problems except it starts motor. Could be a problem with OpenGL maybe but i
cannot say this for sure. A Colleague switched from Motor where his system
froze regularly to a 2D screensaver and he has no problems anymore.

I was away for almost a week recently and a large number of updates hadSven Burmeister <sven.burmeister@xxxxxxx> 02/03/08 10:45 AM >>>
accumulated in that time, including some for the Kernel, x11 and
something kde- related. One of those is presumably responsible but . . .
You can revert those updates and check which one is responsible.
