Well, I replied a day ago but it seems that reply went to Stefan rather
than to the list.
ATI is a good guess (wrong word?) 'cos it matches my hardware.  The
video driver module worked perfectly until the last Kernel upgrade -
which was one of a number applied simultaneously.
