It's not SUSE-specfic problem: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=155620

Unfortunately upstream has no strategy how do handle icons on the desktop, 
some major Plasma developers want to see them deprecated completely and
the current implementation by others is lacking to say it mildly. :-|

The Plasma corona is no direct view of ~/Desktop but content of ~/Desktop
is migrated to to Plasma at every login (unless you uncheck the "Show Icons"
option). So delete first the .desktop file from ~/Desktop and then Plasma.
