Go to the kabc directory. On my system it's 
in /home/rsmits/.kde/share/apps/kabc and you will find a number of files 
ending in .vcf. Delete or rename std.vcf, and then take the latest .vcf file 
and rename it to std.vcf. Now restart your kaddressbook program (or kontact) 
and you should find all your addresses back.
