I did or do not use proprietary ati drivers, because the drivers coming
with suse work allright, except for compiz and beryl, which turn off the
3D support when trying to use them....
i will post the message from x here.. (there was no way of copying, so i
have to write it down..)
(The desktop did and does not load, that is all i can say at the moment..)

Any type of symptoms? Can you get into run level 3? What happens when you try
to get to run level 5? What video card? Are you sure it isn't that you had
Nvidia / Ati driver loaded before the Kernel was updated?
If your using a Beta version of KDE, you should def be able to give us more
precise issues you are having with booting..
