[opensuse-kde] Output from kdDebug() is no longer visible

Hello,
Since a recent kde 3 package update I'm no longer able to see the output of
kdDebug() in the console. In `kdebugdialog --fullmode` the output is set
to "shell" though.
This happened after updating KDE 3 packages. Currently I have
kdelibs3-3.5.7-79.2 installed. Is this caused by a bad setting elsewhere, or
some compilation flag with the latest KDE packages?
I also have KDE 4 installed (kdelibs4-3.93.0.svn712047-3.2), but I don't
expect this is the problem here (unless kde 4 overrules some config file).
