You are right.  I too was surprised at the version Robert listed as even 
0.12.17 has been available for a long time.  The k3b guys finally went 
to a 1.x version and many of us have been happily using it for a while 
now.  Remember also, you may need to update your build of cdrtools and 
dvd burning software, if you decide to move to the new one.
