I get similar behaviour on Suse 10.0 and 10.2 after updating in
the last couple of days. If I click in the text, hold shift down
and then click further down, the whole section from the
beginning of the text is highlighted.
However, if I click in the text, move the cursor at least one
character, hold shift down and then click further down, the
highlighted area is restricted to the the section between the
clicks, as it should be.
