If there is no special reason why you have to use kaffeine, uninstall it and
use kmplayer instead. I am not sure why it is not on the installtion media,
since it does not need Mplayer, but it is certainly much better in terms of
working as a plug-in and does not have these issues of only showing up some
seconds after I started a video. Apart from that, for me kaffeine if used as
a plug-in made konqueror crash on close.
You can get kmplayer from packman's repo.
