Hi List,
Since the last update of KDE from the rpm repository to build 3.5.5-122.1
(Latest KDE packages) (the update was from another build of 3.5.5) I started
to experience the following:

After start-up of KDE these keys are not functional (KMilo doesn't display the
volume overlay, the keys seem not to be recognized in the KMix's shortcuts
dialog). However the keys are recognized in the Control Center ->
Regional... -> Keyboard Shortcuts. Note that all other multimedia keys are
functional (play, stop...), as well as the non-multimedia specials (Mail,
Web/Home...).

The workaround I fount to work is to go to Control Center -> Regional... ->
Keyboard Layout and to select different keyboard than mine, then apply, then
select my keyboard again. The keyboard is Microsoft (kill me for that!)
Multimedia keyboard (I am using the wireless model from the drop down, but it
is working excelant).

Any ideas what broke this? Is there a way to reapply the keyboard layout with
a script at start-up? Some dcop command maybe? Maybe it is not a good idea to
install the 'Latest KDE packages'?
