The mouse finger-pointer in KDE (3.5x) is ugly and annoying to use. (You know, the pointer you get when the normal arrow-pointer of the mouse is moved over, say, a URL link?)
The finger is just too damn long! It just does not represent an average, normal human hand. It was quite nice in earlier versions of KDE.
This finger pointer I suspect is simply a graphic file which is called at the appropriate time. If so, then this graphic would be editable ( via Gimp probably).
Does anyone know, please, the name of this file containing this finger-pointer? (Or is this graphic actually hard-coded into some KDE module?)
You can change it with KControl->Peripherals->Mouse->Cursor Theme. You probably want 'No theme' to get the earlier pointer. If you don't like the default selection of themes there are many others at http://www.kde-look.org .
