Interesting comment, but please tell me, when was kdebase3-SuSE ever updated in the supplementary packages. I'm sorry if it upsets you, but it's just never happened, no matter who owned the company
I think that if you put a Version number on display, it should reflect the correct version.
First of all, it does display the correct version, if you run the version for which the splash screen was created. If you update the underlying version, why isn't it your responsibility to update or change the splash screen as well? It's not hard, just a few clicks in the Appearence section of the KDE control center. If you don't run the suse official packages anymore, don't run the suse official theme either, if it offends you Secondly, the point I was making was that you said this was something new, which it clearly isn't. It's always been like this. The suse theme is in kdebase3-SuSE, and that has never ever ever been updated in the supplementaries, so calling it a loss of professional touch, or a loss of anything, when in fact it's just status quo, is BS. Argue if you like that you think the suse theme should be updated in step with the updated unofficial base packages. I might even agree with you, in some cases. But try to keep the BS to a minimum
