Typically with an upgrade (particularly from SuSE repositry) you shouldn't
have to do any setup work. You install it and continue working as you were
for the most part. Sometimes the default method of doing something has
changed, and you may stumble the first time it does something different, or
when you look for an expected function that has moved or changed. Also you
may not be immediately aware that there are added abilities.

I don't recall any particular setup work involved when updating KDE through
YaST.

See:
<http://en.opensuse.org/Add_Packages_Repositories_to_YaST>
and:
<http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories>
for all you should ever need to know about updating your current SuSE system.
