Well do i know how frustrating a n00by can find it when Suse goes awry and the problem/solution is not readily found. Most say how great YaST is but i have had so many screw-ups with 8.2 and 9.1, using YOU to update a standard install, that i now think it is best if n00bs (eg me..) just stick with the original DVD version. At least for the initial months. There are many config gotchas & dependency traps to confuse and frustrate recent Linux converts, esp. if they have no Unix/CLI background. Let's face it: Man pages and much Linux documentation is difficult for us to use, esp when it comes to trouble-shooting. This list has been a great help with all the patient gurus so willing to help us understand the innards. Even PatrickS telling us how stupid and lazy we are for not looking up some tidbit or command or log (yea RTFM, [again] eh Patrick?), that we never knew about until he pointed us in that direction. But his snarly heart means well i think. Thanks again to all; may you never tire of your good deeds and your unselfish advice. Linux is great equalizer: no more illegal monopolies, no gates no balmer no lies no MS 'taxes'.
