AFAIK, the default keys are the left and right arrows. However, in Kmail go to Settings->Configure Shortcuts to change this. Again, this goes for most KDE apps.
Thanks for replying. Left and Right are good for going to the immediate previous and immediate next messages. Obviously, what I want is to jump through one entire screen of messages or go to the top/end of my message list.
What you're probably missing is that at any time within KMail the keyboard focus can reside in one of several places. Click the mouse or tabbing (tab: next focus; shift-tab: previous focus) will move the focus. There's always some kind of visual feedback as to where the keyboard focus currently resides, but I find that it is often very subtle and only noticeable when you tab to change it. So you can page through the messages when the focus is in the mailbox summary pane and you can page through your folders when the focus is in that pane and you can alter the filter selection pop-up when the focus is there and so on. Furthermore, in the message pane, (shift-) tabbing will select any clickable link text, too, so you cannot know how many tabs it will take to make the circuit through all the focus regions. Lastly, note that modifier keys change how some of the navigation keys behave. So, e.g., CTRL-HOME and CTRL-END will take you to the top or bottom of a list pane (folder list or message list). And so on. Experiment both with the behavior of the interface and with the assignment of keyboard shortcuts.
And yes, I notice that useful feature ubiquitous in KDE - Configure Shortcuts!
