I downloaded the entire 527 MB from one of the mirrors at:
http://download.kde.org/download.php?url=stable/3.4.2/SuSE/ix86/9.3/
then pointed YaST to it ("change source of installation" > add > local
directory > your-download-directory) and when I start up install/remove
software, i see all the newly available 3.42 stuff in blue, so I change all
of their tick marks to the upgrade symbol (a green-grey lightning bolt, sort
of) and then click okay (or whatever) and all is done.
You may also be able to simply point your YaST to the FTP server, but I had
timeout problems with direct online updates so downloaded everything.
