ever since I installed KDE 3.4 on my 9.2, the "admin session" in kdm is gone. Has been since KDE 3.4, is also gone with KDE 3.4.1. Every other session works (if the appropriate packages are installed), and starting the yast admin session itself by hand works also.
Do you have the package kdebase3-SuSE installed? Do you have the file /opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/admin.desktop
/opt/kde3/share/apps/kdm/sessions/admin.desktop doesn't belong to kdebase_SuSE, but to kdebase-kdm.
I am aware, this was why I made it two different questions. kdebase3-SuSE provides the script that starts the YaST admin session, admin.desktop is the one that lets kdm know it's there
It doesn't matter, anyway, as long as you have kdebase-session installed...I believe.
No, kdebase3-session starts KDE, not the admin session
