Hi,
I have one project where the customer is migrating from XP to NLD ( Novell linux desktop ) . The main requirement for them is to access network shares as they are accessing network shares in XP . In XP , a domain user can browse the network and he can go into any computer which is part of the domain . The user no needs to provide username and password to access network shares in XP ( provided by appropriate permissions ) . So, the customer is expecting same thing from NLD.
I am currently on a Windows server 2000 domain using Suse Linux 9.2 Pro. To avoid the password request I went into Control Center -> Internet and Networking -> Local Network Browsing. Enter in the user's info here. My MS-Windows encoding is set to koi8-r. No problems. - James W.
